JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
GCRC is seeking to hire a Trainer to work at GCRC's Training Center, which supports adults with developmental disabilities in gaining the skills and experiences necessary for integrated and competitive employment. This role involves overseeing the PAES Lab, delivering customized training, creating and delivering ongoing trainings to new staff and seasoned staff who need training refreshers, and collaborating with community partners to create meaningful, real world learning opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instruction & Program Management:
- Staff Training & Development: Train incoming staff in agency-required certifications including Article IX, Prevention & Support, First Aid / CPR, Positive Behavioral Supports, and other necessary trainings. Re-train seasoned staff on a regular basis, or as needed.
- Collaboration: Partner with local businesses, community organizations, and educational institutions to provide practical learning opportunities for students.
- Assessment & Reporting: Regularly evaluate students' progress, adapt instruction methods as needed, and report outcomes to stakeholders.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices and advancements in vocational training for individuals with developmental disabilities. Follow all federal and state laws as well as DDD / AHCCCS requirements.
- Pathways To Employment - Develop and conduct individualized training sessions to help students build employment skills.
- Pre-ETS: Design and deliver workshops in job exploration, work-based learning, post-secondary education opportunities, work readiness, and self-advocacy.
- PAES Lab: Manage and supervise the PAES Lab to ensure it functions effectively as a simulated work environment. Maintain equipment, schedules, and lab utilization.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, Social Work, Human Development, or another related field.
- Experience: Vocational training, education programs, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with TTE, Pre-ETS, and PAES Lab or similar environments. Understanding of federal and state regulations such as HIPAA and ADA. Understanding of workforce development practices and labor laws.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card
- CPR/First Aid, CIT, and Article IX Training (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Strong leadership, communication, mentoring, problem-solving, and organizational skills, empathy, and a team-oriented attitude
